Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The MMC Macro City and Planning & Development in the Matlosana Municipality was put on special leave, pending an investigation into the alleged theft of diesel. Moagi Kodisang, and several unnamed others, were allegedly seen filling their vehicles with diesel at the Fresh Produce Market. The theft was caught on CCTV camera.

In a letter to the Council Speaker that was leaked to the media the executive mayor, James Tsolela, informs her of the allegation requesting an investigation. Apparently the allegation was brought to his attention by the market master, Victor Ramokanate, at 08:00 on Thursday November 9.

He opened a case at the Jouberton police station. Kodisang was not arrested. The police confirmed a case of theft is under investigation.

It was the mayor’s decision to put Cllr Kodisang on leave pending the investigating.

Asked for comment, the disgraced Kodisang told Lentswe “no police’’ have been in contact with him and that he has not been investigated.

He said he is aware of the allegations against him and cannot comment.
