Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Police arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the murder of his girlfriend.
According to Lt Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, the couple were visiting a friend on a farm near Brakspruit when they started quarrelling. “The victim allegedly assaulted the boyfriend and he then retaliated by beating her with fists until she fell down.
According to reports, the victim was left lying on the floor and when she did not get up, they realised she was, in fact, dead.’’
They called an ambulance and Lerato Matebele was declared dead on the scene.
The police arrived and took Molifi Thobedi in custody.
He appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrates Court on Tuesday April 2 on a charge of murder.
