Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Police reacted swiftly after a car dealership reported that one of their vehicles has been stolen. The white Mazda 3 was stolen during a test drive. According to Col Adele Myburgh, police spokesperson, the suspect reportedly sent the dealership’s driver who accompanied him on the test drive to the shop to buy a cool drink when he sped off with the vehicle.
“Thanks to information from a contact person, members of Crime Intelligence were able to trace the location of the stolen vehicle.
“Tactical units were directed to intercept the vehicle on the N12 near Wolmaransstad.’’
A 23 year old man was arrested and appeared in the Magistrates Court in Wolmaransstad on Wednesday October 15. He was charged with theft and possession.
