Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The South African Revenue Service (SARS) 
has issued a warning over the latest scam doing the rounds indicating that taxpayers have an outstanding amount to be paid to SARS. The scam asks taxpayers to click a link, which goes to a fraudulent website. SARS has warned anyone receiving such an email to ensure the email or SMS is genuine before clicking on any link. Check the email from where the message was sent. It has to be from sars.gov.za to be official correspondence! Protect yourself from scams and phishing.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Executive Mayor of the City of Matlosana, Cllr Fikile Mahlophe, visited the Transnet Phelophepha Healthcare Train at Klerksdorp Railway Station. Cllr Mahlophe was accompanied by the Speaker of Council, Cllr Stella Mondlane-Ngwenya, MMC Local Economic Development (LED) Cllr Wesley Kgang and Ward 10 Cllr Tshepang Kgwasi. The Train Manager from Transnet, Bheki Mendlula, welcomed the political heads and municipal officials during the recent visit.

Lentswe, Potchefstroom - Nomsa Jas was murdered after she was taken. The bright young woman disappeared on August 25 after she knocked off from work at the Dischem at Mooiriver Mall. This past Sunday September 8 her family’s worst fears came true when her body was found near Carletonville. Shortly after Jas was reported missing, police found her abandoned vehicle at a mall in Daveyton. North West police confirmed that a Mozambican man was arrested and charged with the murder of the 26-year-old woman. According to Lt Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, a joint operation between the North West and Gauteng police led them to the 29-year-old suspect.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Residents of Matlosana are invited to mayoral imbizos to be held all over the city. This is your chance to engage with the mayor, Cllr Fikile Mahlophe, about service delivery and the state of the city. The first imbizo will take place on Thursday September 5 at Stilfontein Library. It will start at 17:00. The second imbizo will be in Khuma at the Khuma Stadium at 14:00 on Sunday September 8. On Thursday September 12, residents of Orkney can attend the imbizo at the Orkney Library. It will start at 17:00. Brazil Stadium will be the venue for the residents of Jouberton. They can gather at 14:00 on September 15.
