The municipality invites residents to visit the nature reserve for free from September 30 till October 4. Please take special note of the fact that free access does not include free access to accommodation facilities. It is the perfect time to take the children and have a picnic in the park.
Father in court for killing his son
Lentswe, Stilfontein - A 30-year-old father was charged with the murder of his two-year-old son. Lerato Thobatsi appeared in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court for allegedly poisoning his children, aged two and eight years old. The toddler died in hospital. Lt-Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, said the father also ingested some of the poison.
Swiss company wants to turn trash into electricity
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A Swiss company is investing in the Dr KK District and hundreds of jobs will be created. The DR Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality alongside its sister local municipalities (City of Matlosana, JB Marks and Maquassi Hills), including the neighbouring District Municipality (Fezile Dabi) in the Free State, will this week commit to play a significant role towards efficient electricity generation within the region.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The South African Revenue Service (SARS)
has issued a warning over the latest scam doing the rounds indicating that taxpayers have an outstanding amount to be paid to SARS. The scam asks taxpayers to click a link, which goes to a fraudulent website. SARS has warned anyone receiving such an email to ensure the email or SMS is genuine before clicking on any link. Check the email from where the message was sent. It has to be from sars.gov.za to be official correspondence! Protect yourself from scams and phishing.
