Lentswe, Wolmaransstad – The Tshime-ga Chess Institute hosted their second chess tournament titled “TCI Rapid Festival” on Saturday December 7. The organisation would like to thank all the chess players who participated and all their sponsors. The tournament consisted of only an open section, and it was attended by Dr Kenneth Kaunda chess players, with visitors from Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati. The tournament had a prize fund of R4 000 with medals and a chess registration voucher to the best junior for the 2025 Dr Kenneth Kaunda Chess tournament.

The tournament was won by a local player, Gugu Mtyala, Monyebodi Makakamela was in second place and Chakadidano Nhamo in third place.

The organization wants to focus more on developing chess in schools and to increase its prize fund in its next open tournament.
