Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Swimming Acade-my hosted a water safety education and drowning prevention program, the Swim4Safety Project), at Leseding Primary School in Khuma. The event, on November 2, brought together water safety experts from NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute), sport development professionals from Athletes In Need/Sportistic, community leaders, including Pastor Mohale from The African Star Church in Zion, Cllr Sipho Majiji (Ward 31) and former Executive Mayor Cllr James Tsolela.
Cllr Majiji reaffirmed the council’s commitment to serving the community, praising partnerships like Swim4Safety that drive service delivery and positive change. 

Pastor Mohale endorsed the initiative, highlighting its benefits for church members who baptize in rivers. 

Cllr Tsolela stressed water & fire safety, water conservation, and encouraged youth to explore their talents. 

A poignant candle-lighting ceremony honoured lives lost to drowning and prayed for community well-being.
