Photo: supplied." hr"><i" st" sr" wi" he"></" />"entswe, Klerksdorp - A befitting welcome ceremony and prize giving for the 2024 Comrades Marathon runners hosted by the Department of Arts Culture Sports and Recreation took place in partnership with Moses Kotane Municipality and Mmatau Traditional Council at the Traditional Council Offices recently. 

Dan Moselakwe Machailwe who finished second at the 2024 Comrades Marathon received a cheque of R150 000, Joseph Manyedi who ended fourth was awarded with R100 000 whilst their couch, Davi Adams, received a R50 000 cheque from the Department. 

A part of the ceremony included a visit to Herman Thebe High School and Lekgetlhe Primary School where Machailwe attended to cele-brate his win and motivate learners.

Also at the ceremony was their team-mates Tete Dijana 2023 Comrades Marathon winner, Edward Mothibi, Galaletsang Mekgwe, Ruben Mosiane, David Motlhabane, and Johannes Makgetla.
