Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Senior Magistrate Marionette Kirsten sworn in two new councillors last week. Pakiso Mqikela and Nozuko Tiyo were formally sworn in as the City of Matlosana councillors at the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court. Matlosana’s Speaker of Council, Cllr Stella Mondlane, presided over the event.
Cllr Mqikela of Ward 1 in Tigane and Cllr Tiyo of Ward 25 in Kanana both represent the African National Congress and were invited to participate in a solemn affirmation or swearing-in ceremony during which they would declare their commitment by pledging to obey, respect and uphold the Constitution and all other laws of the Republic of South Africa.
As newly elected Councillors, they promise to carry out their duties as members of the City of Matlosana Council to the best of their abilities.
The City welcomed the two councillors who will play a pivotal role in accelerating service delivery for the people of Matlosana.
