Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The Klerksdorp Safety and Security Forum will have a last patrol for the late Eugene Cronjé. The event will take place from the premises of Laerskool Goudkop on Tuesday January 30 at 19:00 for 19:30. This patrol will be to celebrate his life and contribution to the neighbourhood watch. The late businessman was essential in the establishment of the neighbourhood watch and active in the Flamwood neighbourhood watch. Participants in the last patrol will include the Neighbourhood Watch Forum, Civilian Response Unit, CPF, Klerksdorp Private Security and Matlosana Unite Business forum. The patrol should take approximately 45 minutes and the patrol will move in convoy on a pre-planned route. All neighbourhood watches, colleagues and friends are invited. They request neighbourhood watches to allow their members to display their green lights whilst in convoy through the Flamwood area.
Final voter registration this weekend
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The second and final voter registration weekend ahead of the 2024 National and Provincial Elections is this weekend. The country’s 23 296 voting stations will open from 08:00 to 17:00 on February 3 and 4 to allow new voters to register and existing voters to inspect and if necessary update their registration details. Following the first registration weekend in November last year, the voters’ roll contains 26.8 million voters with 568 374 of those registering for the first time during that period.
Recruits can check psychometric and integrity test results
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - It has come to the attention of South African Police Service in North West that there is uncertainty about getting the Psychometric and Integrity test results pertaining to the Recruitment and Selection: Entry Level Police Trainees: 2024/25 financial year. The situation was also exacerbated by a voice note doing the rounds on social media platforms.
Sassa grants explained
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Sassa is responsible for distributing grants and allowances to disadvantaged people who require financial assistance in South Africa. Beneficiaries can receive their payments from selected supermarkets, such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, USave merchants, Checkers and Shoprite, and obtain this through their SASSA card, CashSend, or by getting the amount directly transferred into their bank account. If you are a beneficiary or know of someone who is, you may be wondering when the relevant grant payments will be made. This month’s grants will be paid on February 2 for pensioners, February 3 for disabilities and all other grants on February 6.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Die matrieks van 2023 spog met uitstekende uitslae. Noordwes het ‘n slaagsyfer van 81.6%, met die Dr Kenneth Kaunda-skole op 83.5%. Dit is die beste uitslae wat die provinsie nog in die nuwe bestel opgelewer het. Hoërskole Wesvalia en Schoonspruit en Al Huda Moslemskool van Manzilpark het 100%-slaagsyfers in Klerksdorp. Curro Klerksdorp spog ook met 100% in die onafhanklike eksamenraad se uitslae. KHS het ‘n slaagsyfer van 98.5% (132 matrikulante en 130 het geslaag).
Die uitslae van die ander skole in die gebied is HTS (92.4%), Milner (77.4) Orkney (70.3) en Stilfontein (77.4).
