Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The SAVF Rethabile Child and Youth Care Centre is in dire need of funds and is hosting a fun run on Wednesday October 9. The home is dependent on donation from the community, businesses and companies to ensure effective service delivery to 150 children in need of care and protection. The Children’s Home is a 24 hour residential care facility that renders primary care, therapeutic services and development programmes to children from all over North West.
Currently, there are 8 houses on the premises with 15 - 20 children in each house and a house parent who looks after the children. The funds raised will supplement funds in order to provide in both primary and secondary needs of the children.
Businesses who want to support the fun run, can do so by sponsoring a water point, donating water, or by entering a team. Entries can be made from 16:00 at the starting point of the run in Austin Street (at Fitness Zone) and the race will start at 18:00.
There will be a 2,5 km run/walk, a 4,5 km run/walk and a 10 km run (only for registered athletes) at R50, R60 and R70 respectively.
