Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Garsharan Sahota, the esteemed founder of Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association (TISKA), recently graced South Africa with his presence, continuing his long-standing commitment to promoting the art of karate in the country. A respected figure in the world of martial arts, Sahota currently holds the prestigious rank of 8th Dan Black Belt, a testament to his decades of dedication and mastery. Sahota, who visits South Africa annually, plays a crucial role in nurturing the growth of karate by sharing his vast knowledge with local practitioners. 

During his recent visit, he conducted an exclusive Black Belt seminar, offering advanced training to karateka looking to refine their techniques and deepen their understanding of Shotokan karate. 

Additionally, he conducted black belt gradings, giving practitioners the opportunity to be assessed and promoted under his expert eye.

This year, Sahota was also the guest of honour at the TISKA Open Championship, held in Potchefstroom on October 18 and 19. 

The championship brought together some of the finest karate practitioners from across the country, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication. 

Sahota’s presence was a highlight of the event, as competitors and spectators alike were inspired by his lifelong commitment to karate.

As TISKA continues to flourish under his guidance, Sahota’s visits to South Africa remain a vital part of fostering the sport’s growth and excellence.
