Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchef-stroom - The past weekend, in celebration of Woman’s Day, Martial Arts SA (Masa) and the SA Korean Martial Arts Association (Sakmaa) held the national Sakmaa championship in Potchefstroom. Ryu kyu karate also took part in this tournament. Marko Blignaut took part in the boys 10-12 year category for blue to green belt. He is the new 2024 Sakmaa national kata/form champion.

Daar was deurgaans rolbal van hoë standaard gelewer en van die wedstryde kon enige tyd ‘n ander uitslag gelewer het met die eintlik kampioen wat die knoop net-net deur gehak het.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Thinus Maritz (19) van Klerksdorp is in die span ingesluit om SA binnekort by die Gravel World Championships oftewel Wêreld grondpadfietsrybyeenkoms, in België te verteenwoordig.
Die byeenkoms vind 5 en 6 Oktober plaas. Sy droom om aan die kompetisie deel te neem is amper verpletter toe hy in die kwalifiserende byeenkoms geval het. “Ek is nogtans ingesluit in die span en dit is soos ‘n droom wat waar geword het,” sê hy. Thinus word tuis onderrig en is in matriek. Die koste om aan die kompetisie deel te neem is egter bo sy vuurmaakplek.
