STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: Residents of Colridge in Vryburg called on the Naledi Local Municipality to complete a stalled road project in Ben De Klerk Street, Colridge.
They say it’s been five months since the contractor left the area without any explanation. The contractor allegedly already started digging out the road, leaving heaps of sand next to the road.

This made it impossible for motorists and residents to travel and even enter their place of residence in Ben De Klerk Street. On Monday, 9 October, Naledi Local Municipality Mayor Cliffton Groep, was at Ben De Klerk Street, instructing a sub-contractor on work to be done. According to Mayor Groep, he noticed a month ago that the progress on the Ben De Klerk Street is not according to schedule and that immediate intervention was needed to get the project back on schedule. Upon investigation at Ben De Klerk Street, the Mayor and his delegates found that the infrastructure in Ben De Klerk Street caused the delays in the project. Due to the delays the contractor appointed Bokone Plant of Darryl Jansen who is a local from Colrdige as a sub-contractor that has all construction equipment to get the catch-up work done. Jansen is currently busy leveling the heaps of soil in the road for motorists to be able to travel frequently. The heaps of soil next to the road will be removed and effective soil will be brought in that will be compacted on the road.
