STELLALANDER-SCHWEIZER-RENEKE: During an intelligence driven operation conducted on Wednesday, 4 October, Ipelegeng police arrested two suspects for possession of drugs.
Upon the search of both premises in Ipelegeng near Schweizer-Reneke, members found alleged Methamphetamine (crystal meth) and Mandrax packaged in small transparent plastics.
The drugs were confiscated and cases of possession or usage of a dependence producing substance (MANDRAX, XTC) were opened. Ntsane Ramachakela (39) and Tshepo Madikelle (25) appeared before the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 5 October where both suspects were remanded in police custody. Ntsane Ramachakela will appear on 12 October and Tshepo Madikelle will appear on 25 October respectively for a formal bail application before the same court. In an unrelated incident, a 35-year-old suspect was arrested for possession or usage of a dependence producing substance (MANDRAX, XTC) during an operation conducted in Bloemhof on Friday,6 October. Members were busy conducting stop and searches and as they stopped a vehicle to conduct a search, one of the passengers in the vehicle were found in possession of “Nyaope”. The suspect was arrested and the drugs were confiscated. The suspect was due to appear before the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 October. The Acting District Commissioner of Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati , Brigadier Tshenolo Tlotleng commended the members involved with the arrests that were made and stated that the police will continue in their endeavour to rid communities from drugs.
