STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: Milissa Pirnar, a 57-year-old from Kentwood, Louisiana, United States, has set out on a remarkable pilgrimage called G3andMeWalking, a 23 000 km walk with God from Cape Town, South Africa, to Magadan, Russia.
The journey, which began on October 11, 2024, is not only a physical challenge but also a deeply spiritual quest to strengthen her connection with God. The inspiration for this grand journey came when Milissa’s only child left for university in 2022, leaving her to face the emotional transition of empty nesting. Seeking a meaningful way to embrace this new phase of life, she turned to the idea of walking as a way to develop a deeper relationship with God. In 2013, Milissa discovered that Google had mapped out the world’s longest walkable path, and to her surprise, no one had yet attempted to complete it. “When I saw that, I was hooked,” she says. Since beginning her walk from Seapoint, Cape Town, Milissa has faced both challenges and exhilarating experiences, all filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. “The love of God and the gift of Jesus are evident in every divine connection I’ve made so far,” Milissa shares. Along the way, she hopes others will join her on this journey and walk with God in a way that transcends anything they could have imagined. Milissa invites others to join her on this spiritual walk, whether for part of the journey or in spirit. “My hope is that others will join me on this journey and walk with God on a level beyond anything they could have imagined,” she says. On Tuesday, 3 December Milissa entered Botswana and was excited about the new country se stepped in to.
