BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The Executive Mayor of Rustenburg, Ms Sheila Mabale-Huma, alongside the Acting Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae, officially launched the Safer Easter Operation on the N4 near Kroondal last Thursday, 20 March. The operation, which runs until 5 May, aims to enhance safety and security during the Easter holiday period.
Law enforcement personnel has been instructed to intensify visibility, enforce road safety measures, and protect both residents and visitors. The operation commenced with a roadblock on the N4 between two filling stations in Kroondal, with several law enforcement activities planned in and around Rustenburg throughout the holiday season.
Brigadier Ntoagae emphasised the importance of law enforcement’s presence during this period, urging motorists and the public to cooperate with officers to ensure a safe and crime free Easter.
The Rustenburg Local Municipality and law enforcement agencies remain committed to prioritising public safety and enforcing the rule of law. Residents and visitors are encouraged to adhere to traffic regulations, avoid reckless behavior, and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
Motorists have been called upon to drive carefully this Easter, to plan their journeys well and to remain patient on heavily congested roads. Motorists and especially designated drivers are requested to make sure that they are well rested before continuing their journey.
