BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The DA has today engaged the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu, requesting his urgent intervention into the ongoing water crisis affecting large areas throughout the Rustenburg Local Municipality. Minister Mchunu must ensure interim measures are implemented to alleviate the suffering of residents until the new P2 waterline line is commissioned.
Both Magalies Water and Rand Water report to the minister and he must hold them to account and where necessary, intervene to ensure the restoration of water supply to residents.

Crime intelligence driven operation apprehends suspect in Mpumalanga
BONUS - RUSTENBURG - A crime intelligence driven operation by Mogwase Detectives and the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit led to the arrest of a 42-year-old man at Acornhoek in Mpumalanga on Saturday, 27 January 2024, for kidnapping. The suspect allegedly kidnapped a 55-year-old Pauline Nkanyane at Manamakgoteng village outside Mogwase in the early hours of Sunday morning, 21 January 2024. The victim was at the time of the incident on her way to work at Swartklip Mine. Investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly drove to Acornhoek with the victim whose vehicle was found in Manamakgoteng.

BONUS - RUSTENBURG - Since 1969 - the beginning of tennis’ Open Era - Jannik Sinner is the 27th different men’s singles winner of the Australian Open - and the first ever Italian to do so. Sinner, at 22 years 165 days, is now also the youngest Australian Open champion since 2008, when Novak Djokovic won the title aged 20 years 250 days.
