Four arrested in Vala Umgodi
BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The integrated "Vala Umgodi" operations led to the arrest of four suspects for different crimes between Saturday, 6 and Monday, 8 July 2024, in Tlhatlaganyane village and Rustenburg. Two of the four suspects were nabbed in Tlhatlaganyane for possession gold bearing material.
Biology Maphorisa (33) and Ishmael Dube (20), who are both Zimbabwean foreign nationals, appeared in the Mogwase Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 9 July 2024. They were remanded in custody until Tuesday, 16 July, 2024, for bail application.

Smit (32) is taking part with his team, CrossFit Tijger Valley RELENTLESS, consisting of himself, Henri Meiring, Janine Penniall and Lani Venterexas. Although his teammates all reside in Gauteng, Smit has been a Rustenburger for almost 30 years and this is where he crossed paths with Meiring, who also originally hails from the Platinum City.
