Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Hospital is functioning normally and the hospital is receiving water from the municipality.

The water was connected on Tuesday June 4, after it was cut due to vandalism at the Archbishop Tutu Street reservoir and theft of four pumps. This sabotage took place on Tuesday May 28 and was reported on in this week’s Midweek Record.

According to Dr Nkanyana Leburu, acting CEO of the Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital Complex, this issue has affected services such as operations and dialysis of patients.

All emergency operations have been taken to Tshepong Hospital. “Everything was functioning normally on June 4,” he confirmed to Klerksdorp Record. JoJo tanks have been installed which allowed the maternity section to function through the crisis.

“Management and the Public Works team have been working over the weekend to restore the water supply,” said Leburu.
