Klerksdorp Record, Stilfontein - A new project to rehabilitate mine dumps in the area is gathering pace.

A company called Mercy Renewal Property Management (Pty) Ltd has applied for environmental authorisation and prospecting 
rights with bulk sampling for gold ore, aggregate and associated minerals.

A public meeting will be held at Ngwenya Hotel on Thursday February 8 where interested and affected parties can participate and comment on the project. The meeting is scheduled for 11:00.

 

The area involved is the remainder of Portion 1, portions 222, 436, 437 and 598 of the farm Townlands of Klerksdorp 424 IP, within the Klerksdorp Magisterial District. 

This area is ex Hartbeesfontein Mine ground.

The application will be subjected to a scoping and environmental impact assessment process and a draft scoping report is available upon request for review and comment.
