The Klerksdorp Correctional Centre hosted artists from the South African Theatre Practitioners in Advancement on Wednesday June 5. ”It is heartening to see initiatives like this one to be conducted at our facility, aimed at healing and empowering offenders through theatre arts,” said Vivian Nelson, area coordinator development and care, in his opening remarks.
Party with DL King
Lentswe, Kanana - A local businessman is celebrating his birthday with a huge party on Saturday June 15 – and everyone is invited!
The DL King Birthday Celebration will take place in the parking lot of Chesanyama in Kanana with a host of stars. Nkosazana Daughter, Limpopo Boy, DJ Karri, DK Simz, DJ Neo, Zimosoul, Tahir Jones, Mccoy and DJ Siwas will perform and the MC will be DJ Skipa.

Rotary supports Goue Arend
Lentswe, Alabama - In honour of Rotary’s Youth Month, they delivered textbooks and science kits to Goue Arend Primary School in Alabama.
Earlier this year, Klerksdorp Rotary was approached by Wyman Slambert who expressed a dream to open a media centre for the learners at the school before he retires. He is the media centre coordinator.
Training internship offered by Jaziel Brothers
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The JB Holdings (Pty) Ltd, in collaboration with the City of Matlosana municipality, will be training learners from Matlosana on live event technical production. The company, which is owned by the Jaziel Brothers, has been appointed by Cathsseta as a qualified accredited training provider to implement the training program. 24 learners from across Matlosana will benefit from this initiative, and the training will be conducted for a period of 12 months.
Entrepreneur remembered
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Fongo Elias Modise passed away.
He was a local entrepreneur and founder of DELA-CASA, a national brand that specialises with manufacturing of classical, royal and fashionable hats and clothing brands, and also a talented musician, performer and the founding member of a group ZERO ONE EIGHT. He passed on at Tshepong hospital after a long term illness.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday May 25 from 07:30 am at Jouberton Hall. A memorial service will be held on May 23, 14:00 at his home 86 8th street, Jouberton.
