The police officer, is one of two men who were caught in Khuma Ext 1 on September 27, while they were allegedly in the process of refining gold bearing material.

“They were charged for conspiracy to commit an offence, manufacturing of illegal gold without a permit and possession of unwrought gold bearing material. The constable (37) was also charged for defeating the ends of justice. Both men appeared in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday September 30,” said Myburgh.
