Lentswe, Tigane - As part of commemorating Women’s Day, the MEC for Department of Human Settlements in North West, Oageng Molapisi, handed over a house to the Molifi family in Tigane Ext 6 on Women’s Day. The MEC was accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Matlosana, Cllr Fikile Mahlophe and his Mayoral Committee members.

Speaking at the handover MEC Molapisi said “handing over the house during the Women’s Day Celebration reiterates government’s commitment to accelerate delivery of human settlements for all. I am excited to hand over this house to the Molifi family.”

The beneficiaries of the house are 77-year-old Petrus Molifi and his wife, Nnase Molifi and their four grandchildren who were staying in a shack before moving into a new house on this special day.

Nnase Molifi, who spoke on behalf of the family, was overwhelmed with joy and thanked the government of the North West for building her family a decent house and  restoring their dignity.

The department also furnished the house and provided blankets and groceries for the family.
