Lentswe, Jouberton - The local police need information from the community to help solve two brutal murders that rocked this township recently. In both crimes, vulnerable people were attacked. In the first incident, Motseothata Itumeleng (42) was attacked on June 30 by the community after he was accused of taking part in a robbery. He is described as mentally challenged.

According to Col Adele Myburgh, police spokesperson, members of the community took matters into their own hands and he was badly injured.

“He was in Tshepong Hospital when the police were contacted and he passed away on August 1. He had serious brain injuries. The investigating officer, W/O Ansie du Preez, can be contacted on 082 384 9397 with information.”

- In another unrelated incident, a 16 year-old Tlotlo Mafunyo was stabbed on Saturday August 10. The police are investigating murder.

“He was declared dead on arrival at Tshepong Hospital. He was allegedly robbed of hubbly flavour,” Myburgh said.

The family seeks justice for Tlotlo. He was a Grd 8 learner at Nkang Mahlalo High School. Both victims will be buried on Saturday August 17.
