Lentswe, Orkney - The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality welcomed Lebogang Victor Itebogeng as a councillor after he was sworn-in by Magistrate Benjamin Letsholo at the Orkney Magistrate Court on Wednesday April 2. Whilst Cllr Itebogeng has pledged to obey, respect and uphold the Constitution and all other laws of the Repu-blic of South Africa, he also promised to carry out his duties as a member of the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality Council to the best of his ability.

When welcoming the new councillor, Speaker Cllr Xolile Nxozana said the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality expects nothing but positive and energetic contribution towards serving the District community.

“We acknowledge Cllr Itebogeng’s arrival and await his spirited drive to play a crucial purpose in accelerating service delivery to communities around all three local municipalities (Maquassi Hills, City of Matlosana and JB Marks) constituting the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.”

Cllr Itebogeng represents the ANC and joins the Dr KKDM Council after being seconded from City of Matlosana Local Municipality. He replaces Cllr Rose Thabanchu who has since been deployed to City of Matlosana to serve as Single Whip of Council.
