Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Thousands of Sassa grant beneficiaries can breathe a sigh of relief as the deadline to replace the SASSA gold cards with Postbank’s black cards has been extended a further two months. The new deadline is now May 31. The announcement was made by Postbank’s CEO, Nikki Mbengashe, on Friday March 28.
This comes after the March 20 deadline for the replacement of cards came and went, and thousands of beneficiaries still have to migrate to the new Postbank black cards.
Sassa is conducting home visits to assist some beneficiaries in making the card switch.
Mbengashe appealed to Sassa card holders to make the switch as time is limited. It is unsure how many gold cards were still in circulation at the time of the deadline.
