Lentswe, Jouberton - The new settlements in Jouberton and Kanana will soon have more reliable water supply. The Directorate of Technical Services and Infrastructure officially handed over the Jouberton/Kanana (Phase 1) bulk water supply project last week. This project involves the construction of a bulk distribution line that will supply water to these new settlements. According to the communication department, the completion of this project will significantly benefit the community by providing a reliable and efficient water supply system. 

This will improve the overall quality of life for residents and support local economic development.

The handing over on Friday March 7, was attended by MMC Infrastructure, Cllr Steferd Bar-rends, MMC Transversal Issues, Cllr Elizabeth Mabebe, Ward 13 councillor, Cllr Pelele, LOC of Ward 11 and 12 representatives, Municipal Technical and Infrastructure team, contractor and consultant teams.

During the handing over, Cllr Barrends and Cllr Mabebe expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the project, particularly noting the contractor’s ability to complete the project despite challenges and demands. The successful completion of this project demonstrates the City’s commitment to providing essential services and improving the lives of its residents.
