Lentswe, Klerksdorp - After taking the leap, placing her name in the hat, and submitting her application to be part of the 2025 Mrs South Africa season, Klerksdorp’s very own Blessing Ngwenya, was announced a semi-finalist in the Mrs South Africa pageant. The big draw for Ngwenya is the pageant’s promise of genuine empowerment, personal transformation, and the ability to make a lasting impact.
Every story is unique - ask every contestant, and each will have a different defining moment that brought them here. Likewise, for Ngwenya, her reason for joining the Mrs South Africa sisterhood was clear.
“I have always wanted to join beauty pageant, but because of my height I was limited.
“Me joining Mrs SA is me telling other women who are in the same height as mine, that you can be short and have skills and willing to share your skills with the world. Also to let them know that Mrs SA is not about your height but personality.
“It provides a platform for me to inspire and empower other women, sharing my journey and experiences,” notes Blessing.
Shortly after the casting events, semi-finalists participated in their first workshop weekend, where mentors and experts from a variety of fields coached them on public speaking and interview preparation, personal branding and social media use, networking and building relationships with sponsors, and participating in charity and community work.
Later in the year, contestants will participate in a number of charity events, upskilling sessions, professional shoots, and more, culminating in the grand finale in November.
