Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Lesego Molema, more commonly known as Oscar, from Jouberton Ext 21, has received a nomination for Best Student of the Year by the South African Agricultural Awards. Oscar is a BSc Animal Science (Hons) student at NWU and has demonstrated academic excellence since his first year.
He has been temporarily employed by the university to assist students studying with their modules, under the direction of a lecturer. Oscar is the founding member of the Animal Science Student Chapter, which was awarded the Best Social Responsibility and Awareness Structure of 2025 by Student Life.
He is now a newly-elected Fundraising and RAG Officer in the newly established Student Campus Council for NWU Mahikeng Campus (2025/2026).
This recognition commends both his personal commitment and the commitment of the wider university community.
