Lentswe, Stilfontein - Harvey Moroka (49) appeared in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday June 5 on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Reports revealed that in April 2024, the Klerksdorp based Hawks’ Cash-in-Transit Task Team received information about a man who was looking for a hitman to kill a person whom he allegedly had a dispute with over a family farm located in Potchefstroom.

According to WO Amogelang Malwetse, police spokesperson, the information was operationalised and contact was made with the suspect and it was established that he was planning to kill the victim for an agreed payment of R20 000.

“Following an investigation, a warrant of arrest was issued and executed on Tuesday June 4 during a takedown operation. The accused is expected to apply for bail this week.”
