Lentswe, Klerksdorp - A 15 year-old learner of Milner High School was the only fatality in a car crash on the N12 on Sunday night December 1. Gandemo Mahoko (15) died on the scene. Milner High School announced her passing on their Facebook page. According to her uncle, Kagisho, she and three of her friends were on the way from Potchefstroom to Klerksdorp when one of the car’s tyres burst. The accident occurred at about 19:55. Her friends were not injured.
She has just completed Gr 9 and the family were expecting great things from the young Gandemo. She also leaves behind two brothers. Her funeral will take place on Saturday December 7. The service will be held at Jouberton Hall at 07:00.
Blocked sewer pipes a headache
Lentswe, Tigane - The City of Matlosana Municipality urges residents to refrain from throwing waste and other objects into the sewer system. This comes as the municipality embarks on a mission to unblock and clear clogged sewer lines in Tigane and Alabama.
Tuckshop owners need to register
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The municipality has called on all tuck shop owners, inclu-ding foreign nationals who own tuck shops within the municipal area, to formally register their businesses. Cllr Wesley Kgang, MMC for Local Economic Development, addressed tuckshop owners and conveyed this message to them.

While November brought the first increase in half a year, the latest adjustments, effective from midnight on Tuesday December 3, reflect broader market trends but are hopefully temporary.
Constable found dead in his car
Lentswe, Kanana - The hunt is on for the killers of Const Mojalefa Mgwebi who was murdered in Kanana over the weekend. Mgwebi’s lifeless body was found inside his vehicle by neighbours on Sunday morning November 24. They alerted the police. He was stationed at Jouberton and was found with gunshot wounds on his upper body. He was off duty. “According to information, he was last seen by his cousins whom he dropped off at their houses after attending a family gathering in Klerksdorp on Saturday November 23. “The motive for the incident is unknown. The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation is investigating,” said Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson.
