NOORDWESTER - MAYNYANE - The Central Region Retired Police Forum recently showed that they care about the elderly in society.
Old age is a crucial phase in life. Elderly people need special care and attention to lead a healthy life, free of worries and anxiety. Some people think seniors all reach a stage where they can’t walk without help, are not be able to drive, cook meals, or get out of bed.

This is not true for everyone. Just like anyone else, they have emotional and psychological needs that should be met on a daily basis. The truth is that as people age, their psychology, physical strength, and behavioural patterns change, and they may become more unstable. It is at this stage of life that most people require more care and support. The forum had three motivational speakers, Zenzele Mdidimba, former Bop Police, Reverend Patrick Madito and Francina Mmaboinamo Tolo, elderly care chairperson in Ngaka Modiri Molema.
Reverend Madito reminded the elderly to take care, know their rights and they were encouraged to take advantage of benefits from the government.
Francina Mmaboinamo Tolo’s message to the eldery was to join social clubs, exercise to relief stress and to educate the youth and warn them about crime, abuse and drugs. The elderly enjoyed the day.
