BRITS POS – BRITS – The 27-year-old Tshepo Ndlovu made a second appearance in the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 2 July, on charges of theft and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
“The accused made his initial appearance on Wednesday, 25 June, after being arrested at Nkandla Section, Hartbeespoort during a multidisciplinary crime intelligence led operation at around 23:00 on Monday, 23 June,” says Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, SAPS North West spokesperson.

“The team traced the accused to his shack and conducted a search, which led to the recovery and confiscation of a stolen rifle. The firearm was positively linked with a case of theft reported at Hartbeespoort earlier during the day and the suspect arrested.
“The arrest of this suspect is in line with the National Crime Combating Forum’s Operation Shanela II, which seeks to intensify the tracking, tracing and recovery of firearms that are used by dangerous criminals to commit aggravated robberies, murders and trio crimes,” says the Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng.
“It is scary to imagine the misery and harm that this suspect would have caused with this high calibre firearm had he not been apprehended.
“I would like to thank the team and the members of the community for alerting and arresting the suspect before he could execute his evil intentions,” Major General Asaneng concludes.
