BRITS POS – BRITS –Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire (Pty) Ltd (Bakwena) hosted its 15th annual charity golf day at Centurion Country Club, raising an impressive R180 500 to benefit local charities.
Since its inception, this popular fundraiser has raised over R2.5 million to support seven community-focused organisations. To maximise the impact of the donation, Bakwena selected three charities to receive the proceeds: the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), Thusanang Day Care Centre in Groot Marico and Hartebeespoort Animal Welfare Society (HAWS).

The remaining charities will have the chance to benefit next year, ensuring that each receives meaningful support.
The event brought together 104 players in 26 four-ball teams, all enjoying a perfect day out of the office to complete 18 holes. The day concluded with a dinner where the top 10 teams were awarded prizes, along with special awards for the “Nearest to the Pin” and “Longest Day” golfers.
Five lucky attendees also won a R2 000 golf hamper donated by Webber Wentzel, two coffee machines and two gift hampers donated by Buffalo Traffic Services.
“As custodians of the N1N4 toll, we harness our relationships with government and industry to help uplift communities along our route. Our annual charity golf day is one of the many initiatives we are involved in to provide support and assistance to those NPOs making a meaningful difference in our communities,” says Solomon Kganyago, Chief Operating Officer for Bakwena.
Bakwena extends its gratitude to all the stakeholders who contributed to the success of the 2024 charity golf day.
