BRITS POS – BRITS – On Thursday afternoon, 1 August, a crime intelligence driven operation by the local Operational Coordination Centre (OCC), led to the arrest of five Mozambican foreign nationals for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles.
“The suspects were apprehended after members received information about suspected stolen motor vehicles,” says Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, SAPS North West spokesperson.

“Upon arrival at the identified address, the police found the suspects stripping parts from a red Mazda CX5. The car was circulated together with a Mahindra and a motor bike, which were also found at the place, and they all tested positive for being stolen. The Mazda CX5 was also linked to a car hijacking case reported in Mmakau in July.
“The suspects, four males and a female, appeared in the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 5 August 2024, for possession of suspected stolen goods.”
