BRITS POS – MOOINOOI - The “Vala Umgodi” operation continues to fight illicit mining. This became evident when two suspects were arrested on Friday evening, 24 May.
Information received led a team from Johannesburg Tactical Response Team (TRT) to Mooinooi, where it was alleged that explosives are being sold on the R556 Road, close to Segwaelane Village.

According to Colonel Adéle Myburgh, SAPS North West spokesperson, two suspects, aged 35 and 53 were arrested, after detonating cord and detonators were found in their possession.
They appeared before Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 May, for illegal possession and supply of explosives. (Photos: SAPS)
