This annual IFBB national championships took place from 1 to 3 August at the Junction in Kloof Kwa-Zulu Natal.
This flagship event brought together more than 300 athletes competing over two days in bodybuilding as well as the new Fitness Challenge format, launched last year.
This prestigious event gives athletes the opportunity to be chosen for the world team and earn their official protea colors, an achievement that can only be obtained in bodybuilding with the IFBB.
According to Braam Verryne, the Fitness Challenge portion of IFBB is a fast-growing sport that makes way for the whole family to partake in a sport that can earn you your national protea colors.
The Fitness Challenge will next year be part of the provincial show and anybody that wants to get involved with IFBB as an official, judge or athlete can contact Braam on 082 686 0977, as Tiny’s Gym will be setting up a training program to take a team to provincials next year.
