  • Safer Festive Season Operation Shanela nets over 1 000 suspects

    RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - With the aim of ensuring safety and security of all citizens, the operations conducted under the Safer Festive Season Operation Shanela II, between Monday, 20 and Sunday, 26 October, across the province resulted in the arrest of 1 139 suspects. Through the execution of actions such as vehicle check points (VCP’s), stops and searches, foot and vehicle patrols, compliance inspections at second-hand dealers, scrapyards, recyclers, private security, firearm dealers, formal and informal businesses, and farms copper cables, explosives, tobacco products, liquor and a variety of drugs were seized. 

     
  • Duo arrested for stock theft

    RUSTENBURG HERALD - GROOT MARICO - Moagi Motlhabane and Sipho Tobi, both aged 27, are expected to reappear in the Groot Marico Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 25 November, on a charge of stock theft. The accused made initial court appearances on Monday, 20 and Tuesday, 21 October, after being arrested by members of Lehurutshe Stock Theft and Endangered Species (STES) Unit at Brakkuil and Koffiekraal Villages, Madikwe on Friday, 17 October.

     
  • Missing: Help police find Phumeza Gxalaba Godla

    RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG – The police in Rustenburg request the community’s assistance in locating 26-year-old Phumeza Gxalaba Godla, who resides in Rustenburg. He was last seen by his mother early in the morning on Friday, 19 September 2025, when he left the house to go to a nearby shop. When his mother went to look for him a bit later that morning, she could not find him.
