RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG – 28-year-old Tebogo “Manyoka” Diale and 19-year-old Simphiwe Dube are scheduled to make their second appearance before the Koster Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 14 August, for a formal bail application.
According to Rustenburg police spokesperson, Sgt Ofentse Mokgadi, the two first appeared briefly in court on Friday, 8 August, on charges of possession of explosives and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Diale and Dube were arrested on Wednesday, 6 August, after police followed up on information relating to an alleged shooting incident.
During the arrest, police confiscated the following: three electric starters (explosives), 10 shock tube assemblies, 17 V6 Epolgel blasting cartridges, residue samples of explosives, one pistol round of ammunition and one spent cartridge, found in possession of Tebogo Diale.
Additionally, a white Daihatsu Sirion believed to have been used during the commission of the crime was seized.
Investigations into the case, including efforts to trace a third suspect, are continuing.
Acting District Commissioner, Brig Mamotsamai Ntoagae, commended the swift response and teamwork displayed by the police members involved in the operation.
