RUSTENBURG HERALD - MOGWASE- The Moses Kotane Local Municipality recently hosted the District Thuntsha Lerole Phase 5 Accelerated Service Delivery Programme in Mogwase.
According to the Municipality, Phase 5 Thuntsha Lerole accelerated service delivery programe aims to address critical service delivery challenges by integrating various government departments and stakeholders to provide essential services directly to communities.

Additionally, it acknowledges the need for job creation as well as completion of service delivery projects.
A significant focus of the programme was on improving road infrastructure. Efforts included patching up potholes and upgrading gravel roads to enhance accessibility. These developments are part of broader infrastructure projects across the province, with substantial investments allocated to road construction and maintenance.
Addressing water scarcity and sanitation issues remains a priority for Government. The programme has emphasised several projects aimed at improving water supply and sanitation facilities, including the construction of new pipelines and the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.
Illegal dumping has been a persistent problem, but the initiative has implemented intensified litter and waste collection programmes targeting illegal dumping sites.
Food parcels were distributed to vulnerable households which were previously profiled.
The programme was led by the MKLM Mayor Cllr Nketu Nkotswe, Speaker Cllr Maria Matshaba, Single whip Cllr Lucky Moate, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality (BPDM) Acting Mayor Cllr Annitjie Selebogo, MMC for Planning Cllr Ignatius Msoki together with ward Councillor Cllr Lucky Pitso.
