RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Rustenburg Local Municipality said, in a statement released recently that the festive season will have a minor impact on waste collection services.
According to them, the schedule is as follows:
- On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, refuse will be collected as normal - no change
- Thursday, 25 December 2025 and 1 January 2026 areas will be serviced the next day, on Friday, 26 December 2025 and 2 January 2026, respectively.
- The above changes will automatically impact the said Fridays, which will be servied on Saturday, 26 December 2025 and 2 January 2026, respectively.
Collection will return to normal on Monday, 5 January 2026, with waste being collected in compliance with the approved waste collection schedule. Furthermore, residents are advised to place their garbage bags outside by 06:30 in order for the municipality to collect promptly. Moreover, residents are reminded that during this period, except for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, both the Waterval Landfill Site and the STRUMOSA drop off facility (for green waste only) will be open.Complaints on waste collection during this period should be directed to Customer Care at 014 590 3090 or Julian Nkoana, Unit Head of Waste Management via email:
