Dawid and Jacqui Fraser of 53 Soetdoring Avenue, Protea Park, in front of their home where virtually everything the family owned burnt down during a fire last Wednesday. It is with enormous gratitude that the family spoke to Rustenburg Herald earlier this week to share a few thoughts about their ordeal, but in particular, the goodwill and kind-hearted spirit of Rustenburg’s people who literally inundated the Frasers with food, clothing and everything that they might need.

The family is in fact currently living in the home of an undisclosed Samaritan for the next two weeks while the Samaritan is out of town. “We have never met these people and are at a loss for words,” the Frasers said. “Thank you Rustenburg for carrying us through a very difficult period - but rest assured - we are ok and have more than we need,” Dawid and Jacqui said in a special message to the community.  According to the preliminary investigation, the fire was caused by an electrical multi plug that caught fire, the couple said.
