RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Rustenburg South African Police Service (SAPS), in collaboration with key stakeholders, conducted a Safer School Awareness Campaign at Tshukudu High School on 29 January 2026.
According to W/O Ofentse Mokgadi, Rustenburg police spokesperson, a total of 1 399 learners were addressed on challenges affecting the youth, including substance abuse, bullying, gambling, and the Road Traffic Act.

The programme aimed to educate learners on the consequences of unlawful behaviour and to promote safety, discipline, and responsible decision-making within the school environment.
Role-players included: South African Police Service (SAPS); Department of Basic Education (DBE); Royal Bafokeng Institution (RBI); Department of Social Development (DSD); Public Safety; Community Policing Forum (CPF); Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) – Cllr Phiri and Gambling Board.
Learners were encouraged to report incidents of bullying, substance abuse, and other criminal activities to educators, SAPS members, or relevant authorities. SAPS remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of learners through continuous engagement and partnerships.
