Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Life Anncron Hospital’s commitment to excellence in healthcare and the development of future clinicians was celebrated at the recent NWU Potchefstroom Campus School of Nursing graduation ceremony.
The hospital and two of its clinical members received awards based on the nominations and votes of the NWU nursing students who gain practical experience at healthcare facilities throughout the region. This recognition from the students is particularly noteworthy as they have the opportunity to train at various institutions, providing a comparative view of clinical environments.
Life Anncron Hospital received the award for Best Private Hospital for Clinical Training, further solidifying its reputation as a leading
institution for nursing education in the region, especially when compared to the other facilities where these students train. Sr Annelie Meiring, the Unit Manager of Life Anncron Hospital’s Maternity Ward, was awarded the Most Professional Nurse in clinical practice. Lebogang Moloi, a Clinical Practitioner in the Emergency Unit, was honored as the Best Member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
“What makes these awards so special is that they come directly from the students’ lived experience. They’re the ones on the ground, learning from us, seeing how we function as a team, and experiencing the support and mentorship we provide. Knowing that they’ve nominated Life Anncron, having compared us to other facilities validates our dedication to providing a practical and enriching learning environment that truly prepares them for their future careers,” stated Marthinus Grobler, Nurse Manager. “We are incredibly proud to receive these awards, as they reflect the positive experience and informed perspective of the students who are the future of our profession.”
The awards highlight the collaborative spirit between Life Anncron Hospital and NWU in nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals in the North West province, and the unique validation provided by students with a regional viewpoint.
