Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Jean-Jacques Kasselman (JJ) did Klerksdorp proud in the recent Fauresmith Endurance Ride (SAIC).
The young dad competed in both the 80km and 119km rides. He finished the 80 km on his horse, BF Assault in a winning time of 3:52:44 - bringing home the Best Conditioned award in this division as well as Best of the Best.
In the 119 km ride, he made the calculated decision to change horses and ride the Ber-Kaz horse, Tariq. It paid off with JJ bringing the winner’s trophy home in the heavyweight division.
Rider and horse finished the ride in a time of 5:47:37 - giving them an average speed of 20, 99 km/h over the 119km.
Daan Strydom and Yentl Pharlap took the Best Conditioned Award amongst the Heavies over 119km.
The NW heavyweight team ended 1-4.
