Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - NW achieved top honours at the South African Open pool opens championships in Cape Town last week.
The event took place September 24 to 30. Sylvester Jacobs ended up playing in the finals of this championships against Ashely Daniels from HPU district, to take runner-up spot narrowly losing 6-5. Sylvester trailed at one stage 5-2 and kept fighting till the end where the final frame ended up being played very strategically.
The “opens pool championships” category is undeniably the most difficult of all different categories in the “pool sports” calendar. To have achieved this result truly shows the calibre and talent, North West has in the province’s midst.
