Lentswe, Kanana - Phodiso Worship Centre in Kanana led by Apostle TD Mofokeng, commemorated Mandela Day by assisting others. They collected clothes, sanitary pads, and personal hygiene products from their congregation, along with soup and bread that were specially made for those in need to provide them with sustenance.

They toured a children’s shelter in Kanana, a safe haven for homeless youth, managed by a committed local resident who chose to nurture these kids, meeting their needs and offering housing and parental care. This woman of faith decided to create the centre to help them. At present, there is a total of 18 children on their premises.

Phodiso visited the train tracks, where numerous homeless people live and have constructed shelters using boxes and blankets for warmth.

They assist not only due to Mandela Day, but they commit to consistently helping others, having seen the challenges many encounter and realizing how lucky we are to have shelters.

As a congregation, they support Tata Madiba, who dedicated his life to aiding the needy, children, the homeless, and orphans.

Nelson Mandela Day is a day established to honour one of his most remarkable traits as a leader: caring for others.
