Lentswe, Jouberton - Joubertonians and the athletics community were left saddened after the tragic death of David Musinyane (TIKI) Tlale, the Jouberton marathoner who was widely known. He passed away after an unpredicted fall on July 20, a day after the funeral of his beloved uncle. The Jouberton runner started his marathon career in the 1980’s and participated in a number of Comrades Marathons.

The late Tlale is described as a very entertaining and disciplined person in long-distance running, who will certainly be missed for his jokes. “I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the devastating loss of my dear uncle,” said Nathaniel Papa Tlale.

His untimely death has left a void in his family, athletics and Jouberton community.

He will be buried on Saturday July 26. The service will start at his home at X477 Jabulani Street, Jouberton (next to Tiang school), and proceed to Manzilpark for the full service.
