Simon Xakekile Makhafane, district chairperson of traditional healers, accompanied traditional healers to various places in Khuma, Kanana, Tigane and Jouberton where they distributed fruit and groceries. They also handed out soup on Mandela Day.

 

 

Itsoseng Batsofe from Jouberton Ext7 East is a group for seniors. They started this group last year, doing fun walks and on Mandela Day they donated soup and bread. They are Ellen Mothupi, Lydia Mzambo, Talita Setlhare, Mathew Nkoane, Maria Mmatli, Phyllis Mvelo, Cathrine Batsietseng, Josephine Pietersen and Getrude Mongale.

 

 

In the spirit of unity and service, interdenominational churches from across Khuma visited Mohau Disability Centre on Mandela Day. This special outreach event brought together local faith communities to honour the legacy of the late President Nelson Mandela through spiritual encouragement and acts of kindness. They distributed grocery parcels and provided fellowship and prayer to the people in attendance.

The Golden Age Group of Ellaton served up warm hearty soup with bread to the residents to commemorate Mandela Day. This was the perfect way to gear up for the chilly weather and to give back to the old, frail and vulnerable.

 

 

 

Monna Sechabeng Community Development Forum and Mongwabone NPO AME Woman’s and PA, SACP, ANC held their Mandela Day celebration at Jouberton hostel to hand over clothes and food for the needy.

 

 

Susan Mantshonyane Melk affectionately known as Rakgadi once again dedicated her time and resources on International Mandela Day to feed the children. She catered for 160 children (hot dogs and party packs) from her own pocket.

 

Seriti Sa Mosadi contributed towards Mandela Day by donating 100 sanitary pads to Rethabile Children’s Home in Klerksdorp. Daphney Qonde, the founder of Seriti Sa Mosadi, can be seen.
